The Ford GT40 made its mark as a legendary force in motorsports, achieving an impressive four consecutive victories at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans race from 1966 to 1969. Almost 50 years later, in 2015, Ford introduced a successor with the same iconic GT name, showcasing their passion for innovation through a revolutionary design. The Ford GT boasts a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, a powerful 647hp 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and an aerodynamically refined carbon fiber body. With these features, it achieves a remarkable top speed of 347km/h. In 2016, a competition version of the GT secured a remarkable class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit. It has a length of 200mm, a width of 94mm, and a height of 46mm. The kit expertly captures the sleek and aerodynamic design, including the buttresses, door-side air tunnels, and underside details. The breakdown of the body rear parts closely follows the actual car, ensuring a highly realistic appearance. The wheels are plated with metal, and the oil tank is authentically depicted. The shoulder sections and passenger seat dashboard are separate parts for added accuracy. Realistic soft resin tires enhance the model's authenticity. Tamiya faithfully reproduces the distinct and unmistakable form of the Ford GT in accurate 1/24 scale, providing a satisfying and precise building experience. The kit includes optional stripe decals inspired by the iconic GT40, paying homage to Ford's motorsport heritage. The complex headlights are recreated with a streamlined assembly process that yields rewarding results. The wheels are plated with metal for added realism. The top of the 3.5-liter V6 engine is depicted in style, featuring a plated oil tank and visible through the rear hatch.
